Heights-Hillcrest-Lyndhurst AAUW Branch Goals 2009-10
  • We recognize that AAUW is a secular organization dedicated to equity in education and the workplace.  We will support the mission of AAUW by implementing the following goals:

GOAL #1 Recruit, nurture, and retain members

    ACTIONS

Create a communications team to develop and implement ways to form bonds with members (e.g., send postcard meeting reminders, make phone calls, etc.)

    Involve members in branch activities.

Create alternative methods for members to pay their dues.

GOAL # 2 Support a strong system of public education

    ACTIONS

Work with Ohio's Making History Project:

To make schools aware of The New Little Book as a cost effective social studies review guide.

To make AAUW members and branches aware that this project can provide them with a mission-based project and the possibility of a fundraiser

GOAL #3 Increase public awareness of AAUW and its mission especially with regard to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)

    ACTIONS

Plan events for middle-school girls to introduce them to non-traditional careers for women, emphasizing careers in the STEM fields.

Invite professionals in non-traditional fields to participate in these events.

Encourage evaluations and interaction from participants in these events.

Develop and maintain a branch website.

Create news releases for all newsworthy branch events.
